Tracy Lux Recognized by NAHB 50+ Housing Council

Washington, February 18 – Tracy Lux, president of Trace Consulting Group in Sarasota, Fla., was recently recognized for her years of service to the National Association of Home Builders’ 50+ Housing Council.

Lux, who has been involved in marketing real estate, new home developments, healthcare and financial products targeted to the mature market for more than 20 years, was honored by the NAHB 50+ Housing Council with a special “certificate of appreciation” at a special ceremony held during NAHB’s International Builders’ Show in mid-January in Las Vegas, Nev.

Lux is a long-time member of NAHB and its 50+ Housing Council. She was the instructor and author for the Senior Housing Marketing Specialist (SHMS), the 50+ Housing Council’s initial professional designation program, and previously served on the Council’s board of trustees and various education committees. Lux currently holds NAHB’s Certified Active Adult Specialist in Housing (CAASH) designation and is certified to teach its courses. Lux also is a member of the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA), the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) and Sarasota Building Industry Association (SBIA).

Lux operates Trace Marketing, which specializes in strategic planning and research and the development of advertising and public relations programs. The company’s other divisions include Trace Training Solutions and Trace Executive Search, which offer sales, operations and customer service training programs and executive recruitment services, respectively.

Lux, who recently was named one of the 50 most influential people in the United States for the active adult housing market by 50+ Builder Magazine, has a wealth of industry experience. Her previous experience includes a stint as national director of sales and marketing for Classic Residence by Hyatt, where she helped launch the company’s senior living division and the six communities that opened during her tenure. Lux also served as vice president of marketing for Sun City Center Corporation, Florida’s largest retirement community, and coordinated the marketing efforts for The Woodlands Development Corporation, a 23,000-acre master-planned community north of Houston, and the Contemporary Health Management Company, a multi-hospital ownership and management company. She also was director of mature market programs for the largest savings and loan association in Wisconsin and was director of senior programs for the YWCA in Milwaukee, Wis.

Lux has been a featured speaker and trainer for national corporations involved in marketing services and products to diverse consumer groups, including developers, planners, investors, health care providers, bankers, community and trade associations, as well as senior consumers. She currently serves clients nationally and internationally, as well as local businesses in her home state of Florida.

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is a Washington, D.C.-based trade association representing about 220,000 members involved in residential building, remodeling, multifamily construction, property management, subcontracting, design, housing finance, building product manufacturing and other aspects of residential and light commercial construction. Known as "the voice of the housing industry," NAHB is affiliated with more than 800 state and local home builders associations around the country.

Since 1989, the 50+ Housing Council has served the special needs and interests of NAHB members and others in the housing industry who build for the growing 50+ market. The council supports 20 local councils around the United States and serves more than 1,400 NAHB members involved in 50+ housing.
