Her mature market experience begins with her position as Director of Older Adult Programs with the Fort Collins, Colorado, Parks and Recreation department.  Here she developed, marketed and implemented programs for older adults as well as partnerships with the community, university and local businesses. 

Ms. Luttropp held the position of Assistant Professor within the Social Work department at Colorado State University from 1988 to 1990.  Her teaching assignments here included aging and society, and human behavior and social development. 

At Classic Residence by Hyatt, in Chicago, Ms. Luttropp operated as the National Program Director and Associate Executive Director. Her duties included developing and coordinating training on Gerontological issues.  Other responsibilities included motivational leadership, development of learning programs for the communities, and managing the Resident Relations department.

Ms. Luttropp was employed by the American Society on Aging in San where she served as the Manager of Business and Aging Programs.  She also managed the International Society for Retirement Planning (ISRP).  Her work also included training, conferences and consulting related to the older consumer, retirement planning, and fundraising. 

While working for HH Hunt Properties in Blacksburg, Virginia, Ms. Luttropp operated as the Regional Director for seven facilities for Alzheimer’s care.  Here she developed marketing and operations budgets, trained and supervised management staff, produced an extensive training manual consisting of handouts, videos and cassette tapes.  She co-authored the Alzheimer’s Manual including exercises and handouts.  Ms. Luttropp also developed and implemented the strategic plan for new markets, and marketing strategies targeted to community employers.  She also assisted with the design and development of the Alzheimer’s care cottages.

Ms. Luttropp then joined the nationwide Kisco Retirement Communities in Carlsbad, California where she acted as Director of Staff Development and Training.  Ms. Luttropps work here mostly consisted of training staff members to provide the highest level of service excellence.  She worked to establish Kisco as the employer of choice in the mature market.  She was successful in establishing programs, systems and models that increased employee skills and retention.

In 2004, Ms. Luttropp joined TMI as an Associate.  She currently designs training programs to enhance operational effectiveness, conducts operational audits, conducts retreats and seminar training, provides strategies for marketing to older adults, and is a keynote speaker. 

Ms. Luttrop has earned a Bachelor of Science in English from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, and a Masters of Social Work from Denver University, Denver.

Ms. Luttropp has held several board positions.  From 1986 to 1988 she served on the National Institute of Senior Centers delegate council and the National Council on the Aging in Washington DC.  From 2003 to the present, the American Society on Aging Board of Directors, San Francisco, and Catalyst Benefits Board of Directors, Chicago.
